Vertical ventilation provides for more energy savings

Hoogendoorn has expanded their Aircokas concept with the supply of fans providing vertical air movement in the greenhouse. Research has shown that this makes further energy savings possible. Gains are made due to the lesser need to use the minimum pipe for air movement. In addition, plant condensation at the start of the day is prevented thanks to the vertical temperature balancing effect.

SMART
-  The fans are introduced into the market under the name of Hoogendoorn Aircobreeze, and are available exclusively in combination with the Aircomatic software. Due to the smart design of the Aircobreeze, a big effect is achieved with a small number of fans and low electricity consumption. The Aircobreeze hangs above the plants and is supplied either with or without a protective cover.
Vertical air movement is nothing new in itself. This type of ventilation is often adopted in buildings and on shop floors and has been known for some time already in the bulb-growing sector, too. In co-operation with the manufacturer, we started a development strategy for a variation which is customised for use in the Aircokas.

VIRTUALLY ANY GREENHOUSE - You can also use the Aircobreeze in virtually any existing greenhouse as well. Compared to other systems creating air movement in between plants, for instance air manifolds, Aircobreeze offers the big advantage that it can be adapted to all crops, from gutter- to ground-based crops, has lower energy consumption, and hardly cuts out any light. Vertical ventilation is beneficial to most plants. Temperature distribution inside the plant is improved, and there is less risk of plant condensation. Thanks to this air movement, the plant stays active for longer, without unnecessary heating costs. This then is another plus in lighted crops, where heat emitted from the lamps hanging from above in the greenhouse can be the cause of “warm heads and cold feet”.
