The new conditioned growing greenhouse of the ‘De Grevelingen’ site has been fitted with a unique air treatment system, which can heat, cool and dehumidify the greenhouse. The special thing about this system is that distributed across the greenhouse, there is a large number of smaller air treatment units (LBKs) in between the plants, instead of a large air treatment unit at the end of each row.

SMALL LBKs -  the cooling capacity of this air treatment system amounts to 150 W per m2 . This enables the whole greenhouse of 5 hectares in size to be closed for the largest part of the year. The air treatment system is connected to a heat pump with heat recovery and aquifers. In addition, a high-pressure misting installation has been fitted in the greenhouse, to limit both temperature increases and falls in RH.

CLOSING SYSTEM – the total investment per m2 is quite a lot lower than in a completely closed greenhouse. The extra investment probably applies to the complete surface of the new house. The heat circulation course should be almost closed in this greenhouse, and therefore there is no excess in heat for which, for instance, a solution in a different greenhouse would have to be found. Therefore, the yield of the investment per m2 is therefore expected to be higher.
